FAQ

Getting Started

Why does sign-in open in my browser?

That is part of the normal sign-in flow. Hepi uses a browser-based sign-in experience, then returns you to the app after authentication is complete.

What should I do after installing Hepi for the first time?

The usual order is:

  1. Install the app.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Complete any first-time settings or permission prompts.
  4. Ask your first question in Assistant.
  5. Review the shortcuts you want to use most often.

See Install Hepi, Sign In and First-Time Setup, and Ask Your First Question.

Chat Assistant and Quiz

What is the difference between Assistant and Quiz Answer?

Chat Assistant is better for open-ended chat. Quiz Answer is better when you want a fast answer from text or an image.

Use Chat Assistant when you want explanation, iteration, or a longer back-and-forth. Use Quiz Answer when you already have a question and want a more direct result quickly.

Can Hepi type an answer into another app for me?

Yes. See Type an Answer Into Another App.

Can I capture text or screen content from another app?

Yes. Depending on the feature you need, you can use region capture, text grabbing, or the last-region tool.

Meeting Assistant

Which audio mode should I use?

Choose the mode based on where the important audio is coming from. See Use Meeting Assistant.

What are profiles?

Profiles are Meeting Assistant presets that help Hepi respond in a way that fits your live situation.

They are useful when you switch between different contexts such as interviews, study help, meetings, or presentations and want Meeting Assistant to respond with a different tone, structure, and context. See Use Meeting Assistant.

Why did Meeting Assistant stop or feel incomplete?

Common reasons include connection problems, session interruptions, or running out of the points needed for the session. Check your connection, your plan or points status, and whether the selected audio mode matches the real audio source.

Controls and Shortcuts

Can I change shortcuts?

Yes. Go to Customize Shortcuts.

Which shortcuts should I learn first?

Start with the shortcuts you use every day for showing Hepi, capturing content, and moving through your main tasks. See Essential Shortcuts and Keyboard Shortcuts.

Why is the Hepi window not behaving the way I expect?

Check whether click-through mode, window controls, or shortcut conflicts are affecting the behavior. Start with Control the Hepi Window and Shortcuts and Window Troubleshooting.

Safety and Access

Does Hepi need special permissions for some features?

Yes. Some advanced features depend on Windows permissions, administrator access, or plan eligibility. The exact requirement depends on the feature you are trying to use.

See Permissions and Access.

The docs split these into separate sections:

  • Generic features are usually under Features.
  • Safe Exam Browser-specific tools are under Safe Exam Browser.

For example:

Yes. You should always test SEB-related features in advance, especially if they depend on isolated desktop access, Hepi Sidekick, screenshot-protected apps, or app-availability features.

Plans and Billing

How does the trial work?

Eligible new users may see a 7-day trial that can include points.

The exact offer can depend on your account or rollout conditions. The best place to confirm the current behavior is the plan or billing UI in the app. See Free Trial and Plan Comparison.

Why did my meeting session stop?

Check whether your points balance ran low or whether the connection dropped.

Where can I compare plans or understand points?
