Text Capture uses Windows UI Automation (UIA) to communicate directly with other applications' interfaces to retrieve text.
Extraction Methods
Hepi offers two ways to extract text from target applications:
1. Selection Capture (Ctrl+Shift+C)
The fastest method for common applications. Simply highlight the text you want and press Ctrl+Shift+C. Hepi will pull the selected text and replace the current content in active input field.
2. Hover Capture (F4)
Ideal for environments where text selection is not allowed. Just hover mouse over the desired text and press F4. Hepi will identify the specific UI element under cursor and append its text to existing input, separated by a new line.
Why Use the Text Capture?
- Eliminate Typing: Quickly move long questions, error messages, or code snippets into Hepi.
- Bypass Clipboard Restrictions: Because Hepi reads text directly via UI Automation, it does not rely on or interfere with your system’s Copy/Paste history.
