Region Capture Issues

Capture Box Does Not Appear

Shortcut Conflict: Verify that your capture shortcut (default: Ctrl+E) is not being used by another application.

Black screen in Captures

Protected Content: If the resulting image is black, the application you are capturing may be using system-level protection.
Solution: Enable the Screenshot Protected Apps setting in Settings > Privacy and ensure Hepi is running as an Administrator.

Text Capture Issues

No Text Found (Hover or Selection)

Application Compatibility: The Text Capture uses Windows UI Automation (UIA). Some older apps or custom-rendered UIs (like some games or legacy PDF viewers) do not expose their text to this system. For hover-based text capture (hotkey F4), you must hover directly over the line of text you want to get.
Solution: If the Text Capture fails, use Hepi’s screenshot tool to send an image instead.
Admin Rights: If you are trying to capture text from an application running as Administrator, Hepi must also be running as an Administrator.

Duplicate Text or UI “Noise”

UIA structure: Sometimes the underlying UI tree contains hidden or duplicate labels. Hepi attempts to clean the results automatically, but complex web layouts may still produce unexpected results.

Type to Input Issues

Typing Into the Wrong Input or Not Typing

Focus Requirement: Hepi types into the input that currently has focus.
Solution: Ensure you have clicked into the target input field before triggering the “Type to Input” action.

Typing is Too Slow or Skips Characters

System Load: If your computer is under heavy load, keyboard simulation may become desynchronized.
Solution: Avoid moving the mouse or switching windows until the typing session is complete. You can press Escape to cancel.
