Settings Reference

A reference for every user-facing configuration option in Hepi.

Use this reference to understand every toggle and field in the Settings panel — what it does and when you’d change it.

1. General Settings

Core application behavior and internationalization.

  • Language: Switch between English (en) and Vietnamese (vi).
  • Onboarding: Reset the feature showcase shown after the first login.

2. Window & Interface

Controls how the Hepi window appears and behaves on your desktop.

  • Opacity: Adjust the transparency of the Hepi window (0.1 to 1.0). Lower opacity is more discreet.
  • Always on Top: Keeps Hepi visible even when you click on other applications.
  • Hide from Task Switcher: Prevents Hepi from appearing in the Alt + Tab menu.

3. Keyboard Shortcuts (Hotkeys)

Customize every interaction key. See the full Keyboard Shortcuts guide for defaults.

  • Global Toggles: Hotkeys for visibility, click-through, and Stealth Mode.
  • Capture Controls: Hotkeys for region selection, text grabbing, and hover capture.
  • AI Commands: Hotkeys for focusing input, submitting queries, and validating answers.

4. Privacy & Protection (Pro+)

Advanced controls for secure and discreet operation.

  • Stealth Mode: A high-privacy preset that minimizes the UI and clears recent context.
  • Hide from screenshots and screen recording: Makes the Hepi window invisible to screen-recording and monitoring software.
  • Program Detection: Adjusts how Hepi behaves based on which other applications are currently running.
  • SEB Controls: Specialized toggles for Unlock SEB Desktop, Prevent SEB From Closing Other Apps, and Block SEB Log Transmission.

5. Meeting Assistant

Fine-tune how the AI processes live audio sessions.

  • Active Profile: Choose between templates like Interview, Homework, or Meeting to set the AI’s tone and structure.
  • Preferred Tone: Select the personality of the AI (e.g., Professional, Casual, Friendly).
  • Response Length: Choose from Concise, Complete, or Comprehensive levels of detail.
  • Language: Set the expected language of the audio source.

6. Quiz Answer

Optimize how Hepi handles captured question content.

  • Use Last Region: Automatically reuse the previous capture area for faster iteration.
  • Mode: Switch between Fast (single model lookup) and Consensus (multi-model verification) for higher accuracy.

7. Text Capture

Controls for capturing visible text from another app into Hepi.

  • Auto-Submit: Automatically send captured text to the AI without requiring a manual Enter keypress.
  • Capture Notification: Show a small notification when text is successfully captured.
