Hepi Hepi
Shortcuts and Display

Hepi’s interaction model relies on global shortcuts and a transparent interface. If the application isn’t responding to your keys or you can’t see the window, use this guide to restore control.

Global Shortcuts Not Responding

  • Hotkey Conflicts: If a shortcut (like Ctrl+Shift+C) does nothing, another application (e.g., your browser, a code editor, or another utility) may have registered that shortcut first.
    • Fix: Check your other open apps or change the shortcut in Hepi’s Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
  • Admin Privileges: If you are focused on an application running as Administrator, Hepi’s global hooks may be blocked from seeing your keypresses unless Hepi is also running as an Administrator.
  • Ghost Mode Conflict: When Ghost Mode is active, Hepi uses low-level hooks. If you have another “macro” or “automation” tool active, they may conflict.

Window Visibility Issues

Hepi is Completely Invisible

  • Show/Hide Toggle: You may have accidentally hidden the app. Use the global visibility toggle (default: Alt+H or as configured).
  • Stealth Mode: Check if you have enabled Stealth Mode in the Privacy settings, which significantly reduces the app’s visual presence.
  • Task Switcher: Note that Hepi can be configured to stay hidden from the Windows Task Switcher (Alt+Tab). Check your settings if you can’t find it there.

Window is “Stuck” and Won’t Move

  • Click-Through Mode: If you can’t click or drag Hepi, you are likely in Click-Through Mode. This makes Hepi “transparent” to mouse clicks so you can interact with the apps behind it.
    • Fix: Use the click-through toggle shortcut to return to normal interaction mode.

Interaction Troubleshooting

The Help Panel (F1) Doesn’t Show

  • Ensure Hepi is the “active” window (even if it’s transparent) by clicking on its header or area before pressing F1.

Shortcuts Work but the App is Slow

  • System Resources: Large AI transcriptions or frequent region captures can briefly load the system.
  • Network: Some shortcuts trigger server requests (like starting a meeting). A slow connection can make it feel like the shortcut didn’t register.
