Control SEB Activity Logs

What are SEB Activity Logs?

Safe Exam Browser (SEB) maintains detailed logs of system activities during an exam session. These logs can record events such as application starts, focus changes, and certain system interactions.

Hepi’s Control SEB Activity Logs (also known as Log Filtering) is a specialized Pro+ feature that helps manage what information is recorded, providing an additional layer of privacy for Hepi users.

Info
This is a Pro+ feature and requires Hepi to be running with Administrator privileges.

When To Use This Feature

This feature is relevant for advanced users who require tighter control over their SEB environment. It is typically used in combination with other SEB features like Kiosk Bypass and Hepi Sidekick.

  • Enhanced Privacy: Reduces the digital footprint of background tasks.
  • Setup Testing: Validate that your complete SEB configuration is running cleanly.
  • Monitored Sessions: Use in high-stakes environments where log integrity is a priority.

Technical Requirements

  1. Administrator Access: Required to intercept and manage log-related system calls.
  2. Pro+ Plan: This advanced automation is exclusive to the Pro+ tier.
  3. Pre-Launch Configuration: You must enable log controls in Hepi before starting the SEB session.

Integration With Other Features

For a truly seamless SEB experience, we recommend validating Log Filtering alongside:

  • Kiosk Bypass: To unlock the isolated desktop.
  • Hepi Sidekick: To interact with Hepi inside the exam.
  • Patch Enforcement: To prevent Hepi from being closed by SEB.
